“ Great environment, super friendly people. This was my first time trying this spot and I loved it. Fufu was great! I could eat this everyday! lol. I wish they had more non fried appetizer options, but overall great experience. ”
“ This place was surprisingly, so good. The atmosphere was good. The music they were playing was good. The food was top-tier and the waiter. He came fast like he kept acknowledging us perfect. ”
“ Delicious food , I've eaten here well over 20 times. I cannot recommend the service and the ambience and the overall amazing hospitality as well. You feel like their best friends when you walk in. ”
“ What an amazing experience! We love to travel to different countries & this gave us the food experience without having to leave Las Vegas. This restaurant has been open for three years. It took us a while to come check it out, as I looked at the menu, & didn't know what to order. We visited on 1/24/25 Friday for lunch around 12n. We went with another couple so we could experience more dishes. Adrianna was very welcoming & very helpful explaining the entire menu. EVERYTHING we ordered was so good, as my husband said phenomenal! These are the things we had: Senegambian iced tea- it is tea with fresh pineapple juice & lime. Appetizers: 1) Senegalese egg rolls, comes with beef & shrimp with vermicelli noodles. 2) Black eyed pea fritters 3) Empanadas All 3 dishes come with their own distinctive sauce. Main course: 1) Oxtail stew, it has some heat to it 2) Bean Stew 3) Grilled chicken with rice These main dishes come with a choice of Jollof rice or Jasmine. Trust me you want to try the Jollof rice. They have live music on the weekends! We can't wait to go back! Please come down & enjoy this delicious food! I forgot to take pictures of the food, all you would have seen was a clean plate! ”
“ The service from start to finish was amazing. Both our serves were great, very attentive & made sure we were good. The Food was great! Very tasty! So many different flavors! We had the oxtail soup with Fufu, Egusi Soup with chicken and fufu, Jollof Rice with chicken, & lastly chicken and beef empanada. I had to take home some of the hot sauce (I forgot the name) . Loved the decor & the feel of the place. We can't wait to go again. ”
“ WOW!! First off, just walking in is beautiful! & the music is a vibe. Second, the drink were amazing. I had the pineapple and ginger juice which helped my tummy feel so good. It was very flavorful. I also had a glass of the South African Cabernet wine. It is now my favorite wine. it was so clean & fresh. I dont live in LV, but when I return I will definitely be coming back here. blessings. P.s. the service is top notch. & the management is so kind. ”
“ One way to deal with a chilly Vegas winter: go on an African safari in search of some exotic hot dish. Yelp brought me to this place. Being my first time, the server was very nice and offered a tour guide of some sample tastings. How thoughtful! I sampled the Peanut Butter Stew, Egusi Soup, Okra Stew and Red Stew. I decided on the Egusi Soup Vegetarian version for my lunch special. I also ordered the Senegambian Iced Tea. The first sip was sweet and tangy with pineapple and lime juice combo. The Egusi soup came with a ball of Jollof rice. She instructed me to use my hands and grab the soup with the Jollof rice. The ball is like playdough. It tasted potato-like. The Egusi itself is something like marinated vegetables that reminds me of collard green stew with interesting spices from a faraway land. The Egusi and Jollof combo was exotic indeed. Now I can see why the original Egusi version with fish & seafood would make a better combo with the Jollof rice. Overall...a really fun tastebud adventure and I would come back to try the Oxtail stew soup next time. ”
“ Wow! Wow! Wow! After a year or so wanting to try Calabash African Kitchen, it was truly an incredible experience! I've never had African food but I wanted to experience it. I love all foods from different cultures (if you follow me on Yelp, it's a tell tale sign!) We were greeted by the kindest, welcoming souls! The staff are truly vessels of pure joy! So sweet, positive vibes and welcoming. We appreciated that and they were so helpful with what we asked about and recommended items. I was celebrating my birthday with my niece who is vegan and it was amazing options that we both shared. We had the Vegan okra dish, jollof rice, plantains, black eyed peas fritters and egusi with fufu. Incredible flavors! So excited to go back! ”
“ The servers were very polite and even other servers were checking on us. I had the oxtail soup and fufu and it was very tasty. My water was topped off the whole time and I had no problems adding to my order. ”
“ My husband saw this on different media outlets and wanted to try this. He is Ghanaian so he misses food from back home. Stopped by and we had the seafood and beef meat pies. Which were amazing... he loved the sauce... the waitress brought us addtl sauce to make it spicier to his tasting. Handle with care it was straight habanero... but it was amazing! He ordered Goat pepper stew with fufu and jollof rice on the side. He said it was perfect ... truly a taste from home. Service and food is great! Next time we comeback will definitely be back! ”
